FADE TO BLACK | Fade to Black is the kick-off to a concept, a meeting of the minds, and a spark to ignite movement for future collaborations and projects. The event brings together a handpicked list of like-minded individuals to celebrate achievements, network with new friends and colleagues, and to unite in challenging the status quo of the contemporary art world. 

Founded in 2012 by Donnamarie Baptiste, Dejha Carrington and Esther Park; and presented and hosted by a league of internationally-­acclaimed creatives: MoCADA (Museum of Contemporary African Diasporan Arts); AFROPUNK; Wangechi Mutu, mixed media artist; Sanford Biggers, visual artist; Dao Yi Chow, fashion designer, founder and creative director of Public School & Black Apple; Akintola Hanif, photojournalist and founder of HYCIDE Magazine; Shantell Martin, visual artist; Terence Nance, filmmaker; Toyin Odutola, visual artist; Hank Willis Thomas, visual artist; and Jesse Williams, actor/activist, to name a few.
